WANDA C. FITZGERALD: Director/Artistic Principal, The Memory

Wanda studied theatre at York University and Seneca College in Toronto.  She is versatile artist active in the Toronto theatre community, as actor, director and playwright.  From 2001-2007 she was president of the Glenvale Players, a community theatre organization mandated to develop and exhibit the talents of blind and vision impaired artists.  Over the years Wanda has written and developed many productions for Glenvale. As well, she  has participated as a playwright in The New Ideas Festival 2005, (Practicing Art), and as an actor in Summerworks 2006 (Oops).  In addition she has experience in production, sound design, public relations and stage management.  In 2006 Wanda acted in the Independent Film productions Canapé, (B2B Productions), a short film and the feature length film Bad Karma, (Redemption Films) as actor, script editor and Director.  Miss Fitzgerald is a strong advocate for the rights and opportunities of disabled artists in theatre, film and television.  She has also contributed related articles on this subject for publications such as Canadian Theatre Review.  In 2007 Wanda mounted Common Criminal at the London Fringe Festival.   Beyond that, Wanda has two independent film projects she would like to see produced over next couple of years. Miss Fitzgerald also has a background in Print Journalism and Fine Art. 

 

GEOFF GILMOUR-TAYLOR: Gregory McPherson

Geoff spent five years with the Martingrove Stage Company; his roles there included David Bliss in Hay Fever and Eric in The Man Who Couldn't Dance.  He was most recently seen as Singleton in Clever Evelyn at the Fringe of Toronto.  He lives in Toronto and is a business analyst and supervisor of the Audio Conversion Unit at CNIB.   He is an amateur astronomer and Linux geek. 

 

SEAN PEEVER: Music Director. McPherson’s Subconcious

Ottawa born Sean Peever is a purveyor of the lost 20th Century art of song-writing, His styles include; folk-rock, soul and ska/reggae,  Sean is regularly featured on the coffeehouse.ca scene and will soon be players production of Speaking Volumes, a play performed live and produced in audio at the studios of the CNIB Library.  The play was commissioned to commemorate the Library’s 100th anniversary in 2006. 

Sean is currently in the studio producing his second CD.  Music from his first CD, Sean, was featured in the play Little Voices at the Random Thoughts Come Alive Festival Aug. 2007.  Sean also performs at various Salons in the GTA and Ottawa regions.

DIANA CZAINSKI: Maureen Dale  

Diana first became interested in acting at age six and performed in many school productions.  After losing her sight 13 years ago Diana had pretty much given up hope of achieving a higher pinicle in her acting career.  After joining the Glenvale Players in 2002 she has since  blossomed into a very talented actor. 

She has explored professional development through workshops such as the Piccaso Project's Shakespeare Scene Study workshop with Kate Lynch, and The Explorers Project, an interpretive dance workshop conducted by Hope Terry.  Over the past six years Diana has performed in various stage productions including, About 18 Minutes, Undermined, and Fall From Grace.

 

CAROL EDGAR: Charlotte Webber 

Carol studied acting at The Three Schools.  Production credits include; The Token Star (John Herbert Players)  Plaza Suite (East Side Players)  The Killing of Sister George, The Cavern, and Follies, (Parkside Little Theatre)   The London Fringe production of Common Criminal was Carol’s second performance with The Glenvale Players, who she joined after experiencing major vision loss, and finding it difficult to participate in mainstream theatrical production.  Carol's performaned in An Oldtime Radio Shocase as Blanch Bickerson and in Feb. 2008 she played Maureen in Anne Chisllett's The Tomorrow Box.  

 

NAWA NICOLE SIMON: Kelly Greene

Toronto born actor, dancer, hostess; Nowa specializes in specialize in African /Carribean folk dance. She is a recent graduate of the theatre programme at Humber College and currently teaches exercise classes at Gordonridge Community Center. She also teaches a children's dance class every Saturday morning with Afro-Carribean dance group.  

 

DANIELLE  I. SZLAWIENIEC-HAW DVS Memory

After graduating from the University of Guelph's Drama program,
Danielle moved to Toronto to pursue acting. Her recent theatre credits
include: The Aching Heart of Samuel Klienerman (Medina Theatre
Ensemble), Lysistrata (Hart House Theatre), Salt Water Moon (Grinder
Productions), and Celebration of Life (Chilsag Chilies). She has also
appeared in a number of television, film, and new media productions,
recently guest staring on the Canadian production Team Epic and
appearing in Urban Legends. In 2007, Danielle received her Masters in
Drama from the University of Toronto.
